Talbot County Culinary Tour

3 Day trip -Offered April – October

Day One: Arrive in St. Michaels, Maryland, the Heart & Soul of the Chesapeake Bay. Discover the lifestyles and people who have lived along the Chesapeake Bay during a guided tour through ten exhibit buildings and the 1879 Screw pile Lighthouse – Hooper Strait. Meet world-renown Chef Mark Salter at the Inn at Perry Cabin, an Orient-Express’ hotel, as you enjoy a perfect afternoon tea. You’ll long remember the cuisine at the Oaks – A Country Inn as well as Wine Tasting with Wine Coach Laurie Forester or choose a Dinner Cruise with Wine Tasting at sunset.

Day Two: Visit Tilghman Island, one of the last small fishing villages left on the Chesapeake Bay. Learn about the Bay’s bounty as hear from marine biologists about the Maryland’s Blue Crabs and Oysters. Set sail aboard the Rebecca T. Ruark, an authentic skipjack for a two hour excursion. You’ll even see watermen harvestings the waters by the age old method of trot lining. At Phillips Wharf Environmental Center you will learn about the life span of these bay creatures, from birth to market. It doesn’t get better than the fresh seafood prepared at Harrison’s Chesapeake House where you will enjoy lunch followed by a tour of a local seafood packer and crab picking demonstration. Shopping in St. Michaels on Talbot Street is a perfect way to spend the rest of the afternoon before relaxing at your hotel.

Day Three: Tour the Academy Art Museum and explore the Artsy Side of Easton, one of America’s Top One Hundred Small Arts Communities and Rated the 8th Best Small Town in America. Shop, Shop, Shop – there are a wealth of art galleries, boutique shops, antiques, and specialty stores awaiting your discovery. When its time for lunch – you’ll enjoy the most popular place in town – Mason’s. Depending upon weather – dining is available in the garden, porch front or indoors. Your Culinary Tour ends in Wye Mills where a Mill Demonstration and Maryland Beaten Biscuits are a taste you will long remember.
